Alright, so, before we get into setting up the miner, here’s just a quick review on what cryptocurrency is. When watching the video, make sure to skip to 0:36. The beginning has a really lame intro and it’s just a bunch of subscribe to me stuff (also, make sure to skip the song parts): https://youtu.be/nqdv6Ad9Nt4?t=36

What is bitcoin mining (make sure to skip lame parts): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JgFbEw6xMvE

If the video was boring, just go here: https://kids.kiddle.co/Cryptocurrency#:~:text=A%20cryptocurrency%20is%20a%20type,that%20the%20transactions%20are%20real.

So, now to mining: First, once you have the OS installed, actually, installing the OS is kinda complicated, so if you want me to do it, I can.

Step 1: Get a BTC wallet

If you want to just get a wallet really quickly, go here

If you want a wallet that’s really secure, you should buy a Ledger Nano S

Ledger Nano S are hardware wallet. They actually store the keys for your wallet inside of them. So to access the wallet, you would need to actually steal the physical hardware wallet before you could access the digital wallet. They are SUPER secure, so if you start mining a lot, these are the way to go. I have the newer version called a Ledger Nano X. They cost a lot more though and you’re probably just trying to save money, so you should get the Ledger Nano S.

Step 2: Install mining software

I would say the best mining program is NiceHash. I would chose NiceHash though. Hit get started and once you sign up, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YkG9TStbhVo

It shows you how to setup your NiceHash miner. If you don’t wan’t to sign up, they have something called NiceHash QuickMiner. You don’t need an account to run that: https://www.nicehash.com/quick-miner

Hope you liked buidling a miner! $$$$$
